We started ARW in 2006 with the intent of providing roofing and waterproofing technical information for architects and engineers. The publication initially appeared as an e-zine that was produced four times a year. The publication is now produced six times a year with three e-zines and three print publications.

The most important ingredient in a fine wine is a quality grape. The grape must be properly watered, exposed to sunlight and fertilized. The result of an insufficient grape could be a wine with an unpleasant taste.

Now that some assert Global Warming has been regulated to Santa Claus status through “Climategate,” it will be interesting to see how the environmental movement will proceed. The discovery this past month of e-mails from scientists stating there is no credible scientific proof of climate change will further deepen the political divide on this issue.

In the last decade there have been a plethora of
manufacturers introducing materials to the commercial waterproofing market.
Most of these manufacturers had been in the roofing market and were looking for
a way to increase market share.

I spent the last two-day’s on a roof. This in itself should not be
newsworthy — after all I am a roof consultant. There was a time when I
spent most of my day on the roof, either conducting quality assurance
inspections or performing forensic investigations.
